Our Alkalising Seaweed Blend is a mix of cut Irish moss and bladderwrack, two of our best selling seaweeds. Between the bladderwrack which contains the richest source of Iodine in seaweed, and Irish moss which contains contains 92 of the 102 minerals found in the human body this blend is amazingly nutrient dense. It has a sandy consistency and integrates really well into smoothies or cooking.

Irish moss
Irish moss, also known as sea moss, is loaded with nutrients, vitamins and other minerals including potassium, manganese, phosphorus, bromine, calcium, zinc, beta-carotene, sulphur, protein and B vitamins and vitamin C. In fact, Irish moss is so nutrient dense it contains 92 of the 102 minerals found in the human body, contributing to its fantastic immune system boosting benefits.
Bladderwrack
Bladderwrack is known to have one of the highest levels of iodine amongst all seaweed varieties. Bladderwrack can provide up to 30 times the standard daily intake of iodine. It is known for its thyroid support. Bladderwrack is also commonly used in skincare products due to its high levels of vitamin A and E. Bladderwrack has properties which can help soothe skin complaints such as eczema and psoriasis.
Alkalising?
When we say alkalising we don’t mean that the product itself is low PH, but that once consumed it helps to balance the body’s PH. Our bodies are typically have a higher PH than what would be ideal, particularly when coffee, meat, dairy and alcohol are consumed. It’s important to try and balance PH simply because your body works best this way. The ideal foods to help balance the body’s PH are raw leafy greens and vegetables, but also seaweed!
