What is Ashwagandha?
Our Ashwagandha Powder is made from dried Ashwagandha root and finely milled for easy use in drinks, foods and home recipes.
Ashwagandha, botanically known as Withania somnifera, belongs to the nightshade family, which also includes tomatoes. The root naturally contains a range of plant compounds, including withanolides, alkaloids, amino acids and fatty acids.
Ashwagandha powder can be added to a variety of foods and drinks. A small amount such as one eighth of a teaspoon is commonly used to begin with, and adjusted gradually to personal preference. It is often mixed into smoothies, juices, warm drinks such as herbal teas or plant milks, or added to recipes alongside other superfood powders.
Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Not recommended during pregnancy. If you are taking medication or have a medical condition, seek professional advice before use.
