Botanical Name: Juglans Nigra
Also called: Carya, green black walnut, Jupiter’s Nuts

Black walnut hull tincture is extracted from the hulls of the walnuts from the black walnut tree and has been used in traditional forms of medicine for thousands of years. The native Americans used it topically for skin disorders as well as internally as a potent antiparasitic for intestinal issues. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it’s been used as a kidney tonic as well as being used to rid the intestine of parasites and worms.

Black walnut hulls are a good source of beta carotene, acids, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, potassium, selenium, silicon, zinc, tannin, B- vitamins, and vitamin c.

Black walnut hull tincture has also been used as natural brown hair dye due to its high level of tannins.

Precautions: black walnut hull tincture has a high tannin content, pregnant or nursing women should avoid using black walnut hull tincture.

Suggested use: Take up to 10 drops in ½ cup of water with your main evening meal or as directed by your healthcare professional. Alternatively, you can gargle with it or even apply a little topically to treat fungal skin conditions. Please note that due to its dark colour it can stain the skin when used topically.

We also recommend oregano oil for treating fungal and bacterial conditions.
