About our organic ginger powder
Country of Origin: Sri Lanka
Botanical Name: Zingiber officinale
Our organic ginger powder is top quality, super fresh and full of flavour. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is native to South East Asia, India and China and has been used as both an integral component in Asian cuisine and as a medicine for thousands of years.
The bioactive substance in ginger is called gingerol, which is known for its potent anti-inflammatory properties, for nausea relief and as a digestive aid. The presence of gingerol is believed to explain why so many people with osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis experience reductions in pain levels and improvements in mobility when they consume ginger regularly. Gingerols inhibit the formation of inflammatory cytokines; chemical messengers of the immune system.
Ginger is widely known for its digestive effects. For example, many people are familiar with the use of ginger ale and ginger tea for easing an upset stomach. The use of ginger as a digestive aid has been extensively studied.
