Whilst we can no longer advertise this product as food grade due to a clamp down by trading standards (who don’t want any clays advertised this way), we know many people that love using it internally. Calcium VS Sodium based bentonite
Our bentonite is calcium-based. We prefer this type because calcium-based bentonite tends to be much more gentle and overall, is far more popular.
Montmorillonite clays are bentonite clays, all types of bentonite clay are grouped together under the Montmorillonite or Smectite group. These clays are named after their discovery locality; montmorillonite was discovered in Montmorillon in France, and Bentonite was named after Fort Benton, Montana, near where it was discovered.

How to prepare bentonite
First, mix the clay with water to make a gel the consistency of mustard. Then mix 1 heaped tablespoon of the bentonite gel in ½ a glass of cold water or juice. We are not advising the use of this product for internal use.
