Our white willow bark powder is made from the dried and powdered bark of 2-3 year old white willow trees. It is nicknamed ‘natures aspirin’ as it has been used as natural pain relief for centuries.

White willow trees are extremely common and can be found all over the globe, its history of medicinal use spans over 3500 years.

Benefits of white willow bark powder?

The component in white willow bark that helps with pain relief is called salicin which converts into salicylic acid once ingested. It is believed that salicin/salicylic acid is for more gentle on the system when compared to standard/pharma aspirin.

It has been linked to relieving menstrual and joint pain due it’s anti-inflammatory properties

Not organic?

This is a difficult product to have certified organic as the willow trees grow wildly rather than being cultivated.

Suggested use of White Willow Bark Powder:

The specifications for this product do not give nutritional information as they are botanical herbs used for medicinal purposes. It is advised to avoid if you are allergic to aspirin, are taking blood thinning medication, are pregnant fo breast feeding, have gastric ulcers or are taking beta-blockers. There are many other medications that shouldn’t be mixed with white willow such as platelet inhibitors, anticoagulants or diuretics. We recommend checking with your GP or naturopathic nutritionist.

Best brewed as a tea, add 2-3 grams per cup. Can we taken up to 3 times a day, but we advise caution and to always listen to your body.
