While commercial chocolate is laden with sugar and refined ingredients, raw cacao liquor in its natural state is a nutrient powerhouse — packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
Rich in antioxidants, cacao is known for its high flavonoid content — far surpassing other plant-based foods like blueberries and green tea. In fact, cacao has up to four times the antioxidants of green tea. It’s also a great source of essential minerals such as magnesium, iron, and calcium, which are vital for overall health. Thanks to its natural sulphur content, cacao can contribute to glowing skin, healthy hair and strong nails.
How Our Raw Cacao Liquor is Processed
Our cacao beans are carefully fermented and sundried naturally, ensuring the temperature stays below the critical 47.7°C threshold to preserve all the beneficial nutrients. The beans are then stone-milled into nibs and further ground to produce the finest cacao paste. This slow, traditional process guarantees that the cacao retains its rich, vibrant flavour and all its natural goodness. Please note: Our cacao liquor chunks and wafers/buttons are the same, excellent quality product, just poured into different moulds.
Is It Ceremonial Grade?
We often receive questions about whether our cacao liquor is “ceremonial grade.” While there is no official certification for “ceremonial grade” cacao, we have chosen to focus on organic certification and traceability to ensure our customers receive the highest quality product. We believe in transparency and prefer to let the quality of our cacao speak for itself, rather than rely on trendy, and sometimes mis-used, terms.
