Possible benefits of flax/linseeds:
Golden flax seeds are a great source of fibre and work as a natural laxative. Eating flax seeds is a great way to keep your bowel regular.
Flaxseed oil contains concentrated amounts of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), an omega-3 fatty acid. Vegetarians and vegans often use this as a substitute for fish oil, although there are differing opinions over whether the omega-3 in flaxseed oil is as beneficial as that in fish oil.
Flax seeds are a good source of magnesium.
At Detox Trading we stock a large range of nutritional seeds, check them out here.
Suggested use of golden flax seeds:
Flax seeds are very versatile and can be used in many different ways. They can be added to smoothies, breakfast bowls, baked in cakes and flapjacks, ground and used as a flour substitute and can be the basis for raw crackers (see recipe here). Or try making a flax seed tea, add 1 tablespoon of flax seeds to a flask with boiling water, leave overnight and drink in the morning for a hydrating and soothing tea.
