Festival Survival Guide – Herbs and Superfoods

Festival season is upon us, and we can’t wait to be in a field. I personally like to go prepared to a festival, not only do I have to bring bedding and pillows but I make sure I have a selection of my favourite herbs and superfoods to see me through.

I like to bring a good selection for all occasions, see my choices below to help you feel naturally amazing this festival season!

Detoxify – To help you feel revitalised the morning after!

Moringa: Liver and kidney support

A great one to have first thing in the morning. The liver is responsible for detoxifying the blood, and moringa helps to increase liver enzymes which support the detoxification process. Moringa also supports the kidneys which are responsible for filtering toxins from heavy metals and drugs out of the body. Moringa is also full of nutrients and antioxidants, just what your body needs!

Milk Thistle: Liver support

Another great one to have first thing in the morning. Milk thistle supports our liver, in turn helping the body to detoxify from alcohol use, heavy metals, drugs and medication.

Lion’s Mane: Brain-Boosting

This helps to stimulate the brain cells and make you feel energised and alive- perfect for dancefloor lovers!

Cacao: Heart Opening Energiser

My go-to for any festival outing, I have cacao on me at all times! It is an amazing natural energiser (caffeine free!), as well as being a mood enhancing heart opener!

Matcha: Instant Boost

If you need an instant energy boost, taking a small shot of this with some water or at milk will give you a guilt-free boost.

Uplift – To help keep a smile on you all weekend!

Mucuna: Mood enhancer

Also known as the velvet bean, Mucuna is known to have 5% L-dopa, which is the precursor to dopamine (associated with feelings of euphoria and bliss). It is also said to have aphrodisiac properties!

Tulsi: Powerful Adaptogen

This has been shown to reduce anxiety, help the body cope with external stressors and provide a gentle energy boost. The perfect daily supplement!

Sleep Aid – For those who find it difficult to drop off when camping in a sea of tents!
