About organic nori seaweed

Our organic nori seaweed is certified organic and sustainably hand-harvested off the coast of Ireland. It’s rare to find certified organic seaweed so this range is simply some the best we’ve ever tried.

Soil AssociationCountry of Origin: Ireland
Botanical Name: Porphyra umbilicalis

Organic nori seaweed, also known as ‘laver’ has traditionally been harvested off the coast of the British Isles as well as in East Asia for thousands of years. It is the seaweed commonly used to make sushi wraps, as well as the Welsh favourite laverbread here in the UK. Its use in Wales has decreased in recent years however it is still one of the most popular seaweeds worldwide due to its use in making sushi. Nori is a dark green seaweed when dried, with a lighter colour when rehydrated with a rich earthy and umami flavour.
